Welcome back students

Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year!

The air is filled with excitement as the start of a new year of discovery, challenge and learning draws near.

Beginning on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, the 2015-2016 School Year brings with it some exciting news.  First, I am pleased to announce the following additions to our Springer Schools Family:

  • Mr. Lonnie Cook - High School (7-12) Mathematics Teacher
  • Ms. Annie Jackson - Early Childhood Center Pre School Care Giver
  • Ms. Nancy Kastning - High School (7-12) Science Teacher
  • Ms. Louisa Maestas - Fourth Grade and Elementary Bilingual Education Teacher
  • Mr. Steve Montoya - High School (7-12) Communications Teacher
  • Ms. Rebecca Ramirez - Fifth Grade and Elementary Physical Education Teacher
  • Mr. Manuel Sisneros - Elementary School Custodian

Likewise, I am delighted to make known the following:

  • Advanced Placement (AP) English classes will be taught at the high school;
  • A Spanish Bilingual Program will commence at the elementary school;
  • A Library Media Center will be reestablished at the high school; and
  • A Broadcast Journalism (Communications) class will be taught at the high school in preparation for the impending establishment of our community radio station.

As an aside, our Maintenance and Custodial Staff has had a very busy summer preparing the buildings and grounds for our employees’ and students’ arrival.  Many long hours have gone into making sure our schools are bright, shining and ready for another great year.  Thank you, Mr. Juan Romero and Company!

In closing, I wholeheartedly welcome our employees and students back to school!  I hope you have all had a great summer and a chance to rest, relax and reflect.  As Superintendent, I am privileged to be able to continue to work alongside you as we collectively and collaboratively take student achievement to new heights this year!

Yours Sincerely,

Eddie King
Superintendent
