Estevan Romero Breaks State 3-point Record

(in his own words)

On Saturday afternoon January 16th I broke the state three-point record with 15 three-point baskets. The previous record was 14, set by Springer’s own Isaiah DeHerrera in 2009, and I beat it by one 3-pointer basket. It’s an honor and a blessing to achieve this record. This record would not be achieved without my family, friends, fans, coach, and of course my teammates. The feeling I had on the court after getting the record is unexplainable with all my teammates, fans, and my coach going crazy on the side. It’s a great feeling knowing that my teammates had the confidence to trust me and also no jealousy, just all for each other. The funniest thing I’ll remember is once I hit the 15th three pointer all the guys on the bench did the famous dance move called the “dab.”  All hard work does really pay off.  If you work hard enough for something and put your mind to it you will achieve greatness.
