Springer Elementary Vision Statement
We believe that the most promising strategy for achieving the mission of
Springer Elementary is to develop our capacity to function as a Professional Learning Community.
We envision a school in which staff:
-Instruct with enthusiasm and work positively together for the benefit of each child and are
consistent in all aspects of instruction across grade levels.
We will use data to identify the standards each student needs to master for proficiency and
modify instruction to achieve student growth.
Work together cooperatively with parents and students to support the school with genuine effort.
Develop a school climate that is welcoming and fun, where instruction is demanding
(high expectations),and demonstrate concern for and celebrate student achievement.
Demonstrate a personal commitment to bring all students to or above grade level academically.
Create a learning environment where students take responsibility for their learning and behavior, and
plan for a successful future.
Teachers will utilize data to write and implement action plans to meet student needs
Work cooperatively with parents and provide support for academic achievement at home.
Four Critical Questions (Academic)
1. What do we want each student to learn?
2. How will we know when each student has learned it?
3. How will we respond when a student experiences difficulty in learning?
4. How will we respond when a student already knows it?
Four Critical Questions (Behavioral)
1. How do we want each student to behave?
2. How will we know when each student behaves correctly?
3. How will we respond when a student has difficulty managing behavior?
4. How will we respond when a student behaves correctly?
“Unless educators are working interdependently to achieve a common goal for
which members are mutually accountable, they are not a team.”
